As an update to this, we're pushing forward with an update to our survey builder (v2.0) which will allow for this to happen, we will always monitor if there is a better way to achieve this but for now I think this will solve it, if we find there's a better way we will review it of course. We are making great progress with this and many other big updates which will pave the way to even more useful $$$ generating features for you guys.

Hi all, I have a question for everyone on this desired feature.
How do you see this being achieved?
Which one would work?
1) Using normal one-time products that can be added to form a subscription with some rules like "limit number of products"? And setting a special kind of subscription product that would be dedicated to work with one-time products. The same one-time products would also be available for normal purchase on your "Store".
...or
2) An updated version of our survey builder to allow adding questions which basically let the customer choose answers (products) which alter the price of the base subscription. We could add a limit rule here as well to allow max quantity.
The reason I ask is (1) is a lot more work than (2) as we're planning the update to the survey builder anyway, and we could hit 2 birds with one stone if we add this into the survey builder.
What do you think? Input encouraged so we can move this forward.

Stefan Pretty: Option 1, while a lot more work, definitely would be of great interest to me. But if I.m understanding option 2 correctly, it looks like it would also be passable.
If you'd like more info on my how my subscription box works, feel free to reach out.

Zach Armstrong: thanks for the feedback Zach! I guess the real question is, would option 2 work for you in the mean time? Because we're trying to bring as many useful features in a short span of time as possible to draw a line under version 1 before we begin building a whole new version 2 of Subbly.

Stefan Pretty: In order to survive with option 2 is it possible to be able to customize the questions more? for example, include logic questions. Also make the questions more interactive, by making the question options more like a product selection?(with photos??). Or is this too much like option 1? :)
Stefan Pretty
Cassia Bricknell: Logic would be something we'd review in a future update of the feature, but we are adding pretty images to make it lovely :)

As a heads up to all, as of just now you can use the product survey questions to allow customers to choose what's in side their subscription. The limitations of this approach are:
- Can't edit the answers and questions once the subscription product has subscribers
- They won't affect the price of the overall subscription
But it's a workaround for just now! :)

I have a client looking to do a model where you subscribe, and then each week the customer can select which products they want that month, or if the customer doesn't make a selection, the will receive default/random/system assigned selections for the month. The customer can also look back at their order history and see what products they were shipped.
Lack of this feature prevented me from selecting subbly.
