Change Addresss on Order Awaiting Shipping

Any individual order that is awaiting shipment should have a simple UI for changing the shipping address. We have a lot of customers that send our product as a gift. There are a myriad of reasons why a single order might need an address change but not require a change to the customer's future orders or address book. Right now I have a customer with two pending gift orders each to a different address, and one of them needs to change, but not both. There is not an easy way for me to fix this.

We get similar situations and have to do the same but it is not a slick process. Surely it would be easier to have the ability to edit that orders delivery address as a one off?

Josh Tsang If the toggle is enabled the address will automatically be updated when the address is changed on the customer profile. You don't get to go individually into each one of the orders and manually update the address for the order.

This is already possible. There is an optional flag on Settings > Advanced where you can specify whether the address will be changed for the pending orders as well. Our product team is not updating the tasks and reports here regularly but this functionality is implemented already.

Andrija Krstic it is only possible for subscriptions now in the customer portal. This needs to be an option in the admin area for amending order addresses for all orders.

Phil Risk It is also option on the admin. When you have this toggle enabled and you change the address for the customer you are being prompted to change the currently pending orders or not.
Try keeping this toggle enabled and try changing the order address.

Phil Risk if that toggle on Advanced is enabled it will automatically be switched to the pending orders. If it's not enabled, than addresses won't be updated for the pending orders.

Andrija Krstic Hi Andrija, your missing the issue with Subbly. If you have a one-time order and need to change the address you cannot without amending the address in the address book. If that address is used on subscriptions it will also update that address. There needs to be functionality in the admin area to update the single order address.

Phil Risk This is kind of an edge case (customer having both subscription going to one address and they created one time order that needs to go to the separate address and they chose the 'wrong' address when they were going through the checkout).
In the situations like this you need to:
- Add new address on the address book
- Add new adhoc order for the one time order with the new address
- Archive the existing one time order that has the wrong address.
