Charge and ship immediately with a cut-off date

Currently, when using charge and ship immediately, you lose the ability to add a cut-off date. Instead, you must create a minimum of 2 automations that will move the renewal date. I think it's a bit counterintuitive when considering that it is a subscription first platform. We should have this type of functionality built in without using up automations that can be used elsewhere.

Charge and ship immediately with cut-off date

I would like to be able to set a cut off date in the Charge and Ship Immediately pricing option, in order to avoid customers to be charged twice in a very short period. If they subscribe for example the day before the set billing date, they will be charged twice within 2 days.

This please! I manually change the renewal date for any of mine that sign up after my cut off date - very similar scenario to you and manually changing was the only solution I could find. Small enough numbers at the minute to manage but would be great if it was built in :)

Hi Ryan Augusto, can you please provide an example use case?
The cut-off date is used for determining if it's too close to a fixed shipment date if you don't have this enabled, but "charge & ship immediately" implies you are always going to be charged and shipped too immediately.

Stefan Pretty: Hey Stefan! Thanks for the snappy reply. I can certainly provide an example.
I like to set up my subscription products in the following way:
Just for reference... Renewal date for my business is always the 1st of the month (fixed).
- someone subscribes before the 20th of the month, they are charged and the crate is shipped immediately.
- someone subscribes after the 20th of the month, they are charged but the box only ships on the 1st of the following month and the renewal date is moved to the month after that one.
There is a possibility i am overthinking it, but me and a CS agent spent a lot of time brainstorming and could only come up with the possibility of using automations...
Then i also have gift subscriptions which i would like to set up in the following way:
- If someone subscribes to a gift (1,3,6 or 12 months) before the 20th of a month, they are charged the entire commitment upfront immediately, the first one ships and then order will be made for each month going forward.
- If someone subscribes to a gift (1,3,6 or 12 months) after the 20th of a month, they are charged the entire commitment upfront immediately and then the first order ships on the 1st of the next month and each order after that will be made on the renewal date.
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Ryan Augusto: thanks for an example. I wish I could suggest you to use the charge immediately and ship on regular dates option with the cut-off date on the 20th, but unfortunately, it doesn't work as you want it to.
Thanks again for your feedback. I'll let you know when we have this planned.
