Same functionality in the edit emails section of automations as is available in the main/system email customisation tool

I am setting up some automations via Subbly to support customer onboarding and retention.
There is no option to send a test email? This can be done when editing the emails that are sent from the settings section, but not via the automations section.
It's another possible to edit or write these emails in HTML, and/or insert hyperlinks, text formatting (such as bold text) and add images. Again, some of these options are available in the emails sent from the settings section, but not for an email I send via an automation.
If the automations email editing tool was as robust as the system email editing section, that would be a great improvement. I've had to use a third party service instead.
On a separate note, but linked to the same problem I want to solve, it’s not possible to apply and/or remove a tag to a customer’s account as an automation. And it's not possible for Subbly to send Mailchimp tag information in real time as part of that app integration, as tags are added and removed.
What I’d like to do is have subbly apply a tag when a customer first signs up, and that tag be passed over to Mailchimp as part of my integration (along with the details it currently sends to Mailchimp when somebody signs up).
I’d also like to set up an automation to remove the tag (and update Mailchimp) if the customer subscribes.
Again, this would give me powerful targeting - either via Subbly automations directly (email generation) or by sending the tags to Mailchimp to achieve the same goal.
